What Versions of PHP Does Viper Cart Work With?
Viper Cart works with PHP 5.2 and later. The reason we decided not to support earlier versions is because we fully back the GoPHP5 project.
Can I Run Viper Cart with Safe Mode in PHP Enabled?
No. As Safe Mode disables vital functions needed for all shopping carts, it is not possible to run Viper Cart with Safe Mode enabled.
What is MySQL?
MySQL is a free open source widely used robust multi threaded, multi user SQL database management system (DBMS). The majority of web hosts support MySQL but if you already have web hosting, please check with them to see if they support it.
Does Viper Cart Work with Version 5 of MySQL?
Yes! Viper Cart works with MySQL 4 and MySQL 5. We recommend you use web hosting with version 5 though as we have found several parts of Viper Cart work faster and better when using it.
Do I Have to be a Developer to Install and Use Viper Cart?
Not at all. We have made our software as easy to use as possible and as such, anybody with only basic knowledge of the internet will be able to install and use our software.
How Soon After Purchase do I Get the Software?
Usually within a couple of hours but it may take up to 7 days in busy periods.
Do You Offer a Money Back Guarantee?
Yes! We offer an unconditional 30 days money back guarantee. If you are not happy within the first 30 days of your purchase, simply contact us and we will give you a full refund without any questions being asked.

I Noticed There is an Updates Renewal Charge. How Does This Work?
When you purchase an initial licence of Viper Cart, you receive the first 12 months (from the date of purchase) of updates free of charge. After this, you must pay $29.95 for an additional 6 months or $49.95 for an additional 12 months of updates.

As additional licences are "tagged" onto your initial licence, one updates renewal covers all these licences.
Do I Have to Renew Before Updates Expire?
No! You are not forced to renew if you do not need the updates. Updates released before your updates period expired will still be available in the client area.

If you later decide you need the updates, simply pay for either 6 months or 12 months of updates and you will regain access to updates.
How Does Your Technical Support Services Work?
Our technical support services are based on points. You purchase a number of support points (sold in packs of 50, 100, 250 and 500 - see the Pricing page for more details) and then we charge you a number of support points for each question you ask.

With the purchase of an initial licence of Viper Cart, we give you 100 Technical Support Points to get you started. We also give you 50 Points with the purchase of additional licences.

For each minute of time our technical support representative spends on your issue, we charge you a number of technical support points to your current account balance. We charge the following number of points for each minute of time :-
- Ticket Based Technical Support: 1 Point Per Minute
- Live Help Based Technical Support: 2 Point Per Minute
- Phone Based Technical Support: 3 Points Per Minute

When the technical support representative initially looks at your issue, they check your technical support point balance. If they feel your balance will not cover the issue, they will ask you to top up your balance before they continue to answer your question.

If our staff feel your issue is going to cost a substantial amount of points to solve, we may contact you first for you to give us the go ahead to continue.

As well as our paid technical support, you can gain free user to user support on our Company Forum.

If the issue you are having is found to be because of a bug, we will not charge you any technical support points and will proceed to fix the bug in the next release of our software. Also, we will not charge you for sales or customer service issues.
Why Do You Work Technical Support in This Way?
After much thought and consideration, we decided that it was unfair to charge a set fee every year and have some users submit 1 issue every year with other users submitting 20 - 30 issues every year. We also didn't want to bundle updates and technical support together either as some users may only want updates and would be paying for support regardless.
Can I Run Multiple Stores Using Viper Cart?
You can but you must purchase additional licences for each additional store you wish to build. Each additional store must have the same domain WHOIS data as the domain for the initial licence. See the Pricing page for more details.
Am I Able to Install a Development Copy of Viper Cart?
Yes, although we have a few conditions to this :-
1. You are only able to install the software on localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your licenced domain name(s).
2. The install must be password protected with HTTP Authentication or must be inaccessible from the internet.
3. Only you, your staff and your developer(s) may access the installation.
Can You Install the Software For Me?
Yes! You can either purchase this service when you purchase Viper Cart or purchase it later if you change your mind and decide you need this service.
Can You Upgrade the Software For Me?
Yes! You can purchase this service from the client area when an upgrade is available.
I Redirect or Park Multiple Domains to my Store. Do I need Additional Licences?
No. As the sites use the same database, you only require one licence.
Can I Customise the Software to my Needs?
Yes! We provide full source code with our product allowing you change the software to meet your needs or pay a developer to do this for you if you are unable to do it yourself.
